HPA, launched in 1998 by CFPA, is a biennial photography contest which calls upon worldwide photographers, professional or amateur, to record the world’s folklore cultures, spread and share the diverse cultures among mankind. HPA has been greatly supported by UNESCO, with whose logo awarded since the year 2000. So far, HPA has collected over 130,000 folklore photos of 141 countries taken by photographers from 108 countries. Common humanity in diversity, that is what we are trying to express, and what all the nations and countries in the world pay close attention to. When the outstanding multi-cultures are transformed to external records via images, HPA comes into the eyes of more and more countries and areas. In 2005, the best works of the HPA were exhibited at the UN Pavilion of the World Expo in Aichi, Japan and UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris, France. In 2010, HPA again was invited to join UNESCO Week at World Expo Shanghai.
As we know, INSEA plays an important role in the fields of competence of the organization, we hope you would like to help us to encouraging people who love folklore cultures to participate in HPA 2011 Contest.
